This was a quantitative survey carried out in May 2020. It was targeted at Internet users in Ghana aged 18 years and older at the time and living across the 16 administrative regions of Ghana. Respondents were contacted through Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI).The survey was conducted between May and August 2020 and targeted at Ghanaian consumers who use the Internet. A total of 516 complete interviews were achieved. The survey explored the following:

  • Consumers’ usage of e-commerce platforms and payments options
  • Category of items they purchase
  • Their satisfaction with e-commerce platforms and the online purchase experience
  • Perceptions and attitudes about e-commerce, and how these have evolved since the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • E-commerce shifts within consumer segments and demographic groups.
