Ghana’s First Regional Brand Index Report launched by CIMG

On Thursday evening, 20th April 2023, the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) launched Ghana’s first-ever Regional Brands Index at the Labadi Beach Hotel.

The research project was done with support from the Institute’s research partner, the Bureau of Market & Social Research, and with the supervision of a nine-member technical committee comprising eminent marketing scholars and practitioners.

The Index is a nationwide survey that provides data and insights towards the development of the sixteen regions of Ghana into destination brands, to consolidate the work being done under the Brand Ghana Initiative.

The Executive Director of the Bureau of Market & Social Research and team leader for the research, Isaac Gwumah, presented the results of the study to invited stakeholders that included the National Development Planning Commission, Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.

In concluding his presentation, Isaac Gwumah charged all stakeholders to work closely with the CIMG in developing the relevant destination marketing strategies that will assure the equitable flow of migration, investment and tourism money to the sixteen regions.
